13 stitches
thanks lennard. a 6cm long cut that needed 13 stitches.
whatt, i was thanking you for my new specs. (:
friday.
soccer after school, managed to convince weishen to play. kept a very nice clean sheet until matthew scored. then daniel scored. but i made lots of nice saves okay.
then i made a very good save, then got kicked by yihao in the head. ouch. rested awhile, when i came back, new team liao. james crossed, i repositioned myself for the shot, lennard shot. whacked me right in the face. i remember shouting once before falling down, i couldn't open my eyes.
the teachers told me i had to go to hospital, needed stitches. felt super scared. like stitches.
even elsa chew came down to sightsee. soon the news spread around.
but the doctor was super nice. like, "what's the day today?" "friday." "which year?" "2007." "okay, i just have to make sure you're okay." before he applied the numbing gel he asked again. before he stitched asked again. AFTER he stitched asked again. good doctor (:
some how the hospital said no need to pay. i wonder why.

interclass soccer
a rare update.
yea.
why the hell does everything happen to me.
first match let in 1 goal, eugene gan.
pulled off a good save though, again from eugene gan.
second match clean sheet, 2 good saves, from cycum.
third match let in 2 goals, then got injured.
while trying to save the 2nd goal, i landed badly, slipped and whacked my head.
lay on the ground for like 10 years, then i went sick bay.
red cross people are professional lor, why can't people appreciate them more.
anyway our team lost.
james got red-carded for saying f***
matthew missed a last minute penalty. stupid pathy. caused both of these.
kartik became keeper. i wanted to play on la, cos there was no other keeper, m artina o ng (spaces there in case they google) didn't let me.
i had this feeling that now someone who can't be keeper is the keeper, the forwards won't dare to roam forward so much.
they almost scored quite a few times. maybe kartik's not that bad.
i cried. why do i get injured in the most crucial match in my whole RI life. (stupidly, it's my fourth competitive match.) whyyyyyyyy. why me. why did james get sent off. why did matthew miss that penalty.
and all those time, i was lying in the stupid sick bay. m artina o ng refused to let me know the score, no one told me the final score even when i went out. sigh i guess they didn't want me to blame myself.
then 3H lost 2-1 to 3B. our only hope of progressing onward poofed.
now my head hurts. there's bb tomorrow. some meeting. i don't wanna go la, head hurts. grrrr. WHY ME.
so we won 1 drew 1 lost 1. missed advancing by 2 points.
on a lighter note, congratulations to weishen who scored 50%(1) of our goals. (2)
and my hypothesis about daniel is yet reinforced.
"Everytime Daniel organizes something it rains."

Myanmar opposition dismisses junta offer to talk
http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews/Asia/Story/A1Story20071005-28626.html
This issue is on the political unrest in Myanmar. This issue is important because it could damage the country’s stability, and cause the country to regress instead. It has gotten so serious that even China and the USA has stepped in to try to help.
From my perspective, the people must really have been somewhat affected by the government, explaining the revolt. For whatever reason, we might not know, but definitely the government must have provoked them, intentionally or otherwise. The people have carried out monk-led demonstration. In my interpretation, I believe that Buddhism and monks are an integral part of the society of Myanmar, by using the monks to cause a revolt; they are hoping to get majority of the people to revolt with them too.
From the government’s perspective, it is merely an attempt to cause political unrest, but to the people starting this unrest, they see it as their liberty, their lifetime goal, similar to how the slaves would have failed during the Civil War.
I have not experienced something so major in my life before, thus my viewpoint might be limited, but I still believe the best way to resolve this matter is to investigate the real reason for the revolts and learn from this incident to avoid future happenings

Smoking out the world's lungs
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6354079.stm
This issue is concerning forest fires in the rainforest in central Kalimantan. In the article, the journalist records it as “the lungs of the world”. What irony that many people would actually want to destroy the lungs of the world they are living in. This issue is significant because it is about the world we are living in, the very world that is slowly being destroyed before our very eyes.
The people starting the forest fires are poor people, having no money to spend on fertilizer, they have to resort to burning trees for the nutrients. As quoted from the article, "To prevent people opening up peatlands for agriculture or whatever, we need to come up with development projects that directly benefit the local poor, and that is a challenge that has to be solved by the government as a whole." I empathize with the people that they are so poor that they have no alternative other than to burn the forests in order to make a living, in order to survive. However, the government is also in a dilemma. Should they sacrifice the livelihood of the locals to protect the earth, or risk a finger being pointed at them saying that they have no sympathy for anyone at all? It is a situation which nobody would want to be in.
From the government’s perspective, they are really at a loss as to what to do, and it is difficult to think up a solution that would benefit everyone. From the locals’ perspective however, it is a necessity to that to ensure their own survival in this world where only the fittest survive. I believe that the government’s perspective is the more correct one as they would have assessed the situation beforehand, while the locals are concerned only for their own survival.
However, because I am young and do not have much exposure to the outside world, my viewpoint may not be very accurate, and to me, the best solution is to follow the government.

made lots of nice saves (:
bottom left corner point blank save
held on to a long range shot (a hard one)
saved my defender from own goaling (he almost lobbed me la basket.)
and many more times getting to the ball before striker.
but still let in 3 goals. considering the only people in my team who can play are rainer matthew and zhuoyang (and me of course), i think you would agree that a loss was quite certain.
now my whole body aches.
EOYs coming tomorrow.
won't be updating till next friday.
*monopolising is fun. jaren's 15m and weixiang's 20m poof in one turn. (:
until then, bye! (:

mugging.
For the first time in my life, mugging -> successful.
Thanks to Dennis and Joelle (:
History and Remainder Theorem.
Whew.
Went window shopping with Joelle. She scam my $2.25.
"Eat ice-cream?"
"OK."
"Hi, welcome to Mcdonalds'."
"Hi, 1 chocolate milkshake. Eh what you want?"
"I don't want liao."
it's like WTG.
and i just realised that sleeping before any meal (other than breakfast) sucks, because
1. Somehow there is no taste no matter what you eat.
2. So tired you just wanna sleep some more.
3. Most likely the food is cold already.
I found that out the hard way.
And. I need to bring my jacket. It's DAM cold.
Somehow not being worried for the EOYs make me guilty.

the 9 o'clock ch8 show is uber nice. Instead of the usual 1 plot a week police stories, the whole series consists of many small plots forming into one big gigantic plot. NICE.
and Rui En is cool.
